Downtown Los Angeles is full of great 1930s buildings, and the Oviatt is one of the best. M & J were married on the roof, and it was brilliant.
The dress code was “psychedelic Art Deco”, which is basically better than every other dress code that’s ever been written on an invitation, and everyone looked gorgeous.
(This is another one of my very first weddings. I’m getting nostalgic now I’m suddenly no longer in my twenties. This was while I was in Los Angeles most of the time, instead of London, and I definitely wasn’t a wedding photographer. It’s also still my favourite wedding dress ever, so it’s definitely worth a revisit.)
